Registration in Colorado is a 2-step process: credentialing with CACVT, which qualifies individuals to apply for registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
- Current CVTs: Veterinary technicians with an active credential are qualified to apply for registration with DORA. Please see our informational page on registering.
- Current PVTs (provisional registration holders): Once you complete the requirements of one of the experience-based pathways, you will have 28 days to apply for a credential with CACVT. For more information, please see our page about applying for a credential with a provisional registration.
- Veterinary Technology Students: Graduation from an AVMA-accredited program and passing the VTNE qualify you to become an RVT! Please see our informational page for credentialing post-VTNE.
